Comrades Marathon Visits St Charles College Sports Assembly

We were proud to have Mrs Debbie Shuttleworth from the Comrades Marathon Association, visiting our sports assembly recently. The Comrades is globally renowned as the ultimate human race, testing the absolute limits of physical and mental endurance.

The finish line of the Comrades Marathon is a place of immense emotion. Behind the scenes of this monumental event stands the medical team - the critical safety net that ensures the well-being of thousands of athletes. Over 110 Saints volunteers worked between the finish line and the medical tent, ensuring no runner was left unsupported. The crew of volunteers perfectly embodied the true Comrades spirit and the race theme for 2026, “Ska Fela Moya.” Thank you to all the staff and boys who received certificates for their service.

We’ll be ready and waiting at the 100th finish in Durban, 2027. - Mr Rowan Irons (Director of Sport)
