Junior Primary learning is designed to help boys explore, question and think more deeply.
At St Charles College, Cambridge Primary forms part of the Junior Primary curriculum, helping boys build strong foundations through an internationally recognised framework that supports confident learning across key subjects.
The Singapore Maths Curriculum develops problem-solving, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Concepts are introduced with intentional progression, giving boys a strong foundation for more complex learning later on.
The Time2Read methodology supports strong auditory skills and phonemic awareness. By helping boys understand the relationship between symbols and sounds, Time2Read strengthens the foundations for spelling, reading and language confidence.

Movement, sport and belonging
Movement is a vital part of Junior Primary life.
Through 30-minute Brain Breaks, boys take part in game-based activities and challenges that develop coordination, balance, spatial awareness and strength. These sessions take place three times a week during the school day and help boys reset, move and grow in confidence.
Junior Primary boys also take part in four sports practices per week, covering a variety of sporting codes. This gives them early exposure to a broad sporting culture and helps them develop motor skills, teamwork, trust and social confidence.
As boys begin to take part in team games, they learn to rely on others, contribute with effort and understand the value of playing as part of something bigger than themselves.
Supporting boys and families
St Charles College offers supervised aftercare for Junior Primary boys, providing practical support for busy working families.
Aftercare is available Monday to Friday from 2pm, directly after sport, until 5pm. This service is offered at no additional charge to parents.
In a familiar and supervised environment, boys are cared for after the school day while families have the reassurance of knowing they remain within the St Charles College community.
