Mathematics Olympiad

The Second Round of the Old Mutual SA Mathematics Olympiad was written in May. Our St Charles College boys did exceptionally well, with 16 boys placing in the top 100 in the province.

Congratulations to James Isaac, Daniel Morkel, Yisun NG-Yang and James Schaefer in Form 5, and Dane Harrison in Form 6, who were placed in the top 100 seniors in the province. We also congratulate Joshua Drew, Keagan Hewer, Veer Bhagwan, Tharun Naidoo, David Krynauw, Unakho Tyalimpi and Sam Henderson in Form 3, and Harry Matthews, Tyler Rajah, Zachary Francis and Ibrahim El-Alam in Form 2, who were placed in the top 100 juniors in the province. James Isaac was placed fifth in the province (seniors) and Keagen Hewer was placed sixteenth in the province (juniors).

In addition, James and Keagan had a rating of ‘excellent’, and they were placed in the top 100 nationally. They excelled even further by qualifying to participate in the third round, which was written in July. We would like to congratulate all the boys on their extraordinary achievement.

- Mrs Charlotte Pillay (Head of Mathematics)
